Gautam has been active for the past two decades as the lead singer of multiple gigging rock cover bands in NJ. Known for invoking the voices of classic rock front-men but also with an energetic showmanship that hints at their styles. He has also sung in local choirs, a capella groups, and barbershop quartet.

Gautam has a prolific catalog of music ranging from albums of eclectic original music to compositions for traditional instruments (sonatas, concertos, a capella) and scores for musical theater productions.
